Set amid the softly rolling hills of Austria's picturesque Wachau vineyards, Durnstein beckons visitors to stroll its medieval cobbled streets, lined with quaint 16th century townhouses. And a walk along the evocative ruined walls and towers of its castle, built on a rocky crags, provides glimpses into the solitary imprisonment of Richard the Lionheart, held there in the late 12th century.

Walk around the towns narrow streets and through the old town and past traditional patrician houses. See the Oberhaus Fortress and visit the impressive baroque St Stephans Cathedral, where you can see the largest church organ.

Dining
Dining on board is single-seating for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This means guests eat at a table of their choice during dining times advised in the on board daily programme.
Meals are European - style. Begin your day with an extensive buffet breakfast, or choose a breakfast specialities. For lunch offerings include a salad and sandwich bar as well as a choice of 2 entrees and dessert. Dinner is a multi-course meal, often focusing on regional specialities and to compliment your meal you can select from a menu of local and international wines. On every cruise there is Captain's welcome cocktail reception and dinner and a Captain's farewell dinner.
