Havel

The Havel is north major tributary of the Elbe. It is 350km long and rises in the Mecklanburg Lakes in northern Germany. It flows through Berlin to Potsdam and Brandenburg and enters the Elbe near Havelberg. Cruises which visit Berlin either sail up the Havel as far as Potsdam, or stop at the Magdeburg on the Elbe and take passengers by coach to the capital.
